Men's Health Awareness Month
June is the month to focus on men's health! Men are at higher risk for serious health issues like heart disease, stroke, and depression, but they are less likely to take care of their health. It's important for men to know their risks and take action including seeing their doctor for an annual physical. Get healthy AND earn rewards!
Check out these tips to help men take charge of their health:
|
• |
Get regular checkups: Catching health problems early makes it easier to treat them. |
• |
Choose healthier foods: Cook at home and fill half your plate with fruits and veggies. |
• |
Exercise: Aim for at least 30 minutes of activity each day. |
• |
Sleep well: Get 7-9 hours of sleep each night. |
• |
Maintain a healthy weight. Even losing just a few pounds can help. |
• |
Don't smoke or use tobacco products. |
• |
Stay connected: Spend time with family and friends to fight loneliness. |
• |
Talk about mental health: Connect with a trained therapist. |
