Heart Health

When someone on a TV show has a heart attack, they grab their chest or arm. While pain in the chest, arm, shoulder, and neck are common, there can be other signs or symptoms of a heart attack including:

Trouble breathing
Nausea or stomachache
Feeling light-headed, dizzy, or unusually tired
Breaking out in a cold sweat
Pain in the upper abdomen (above the belly button)
Sudden jaw pain

Sometimes these symptoms can come on suddenly, but they can also develop slowly over hours, days, or even weeks before the heart attack.

Heart attack symptoms in women are often different than those in men. Women are more likely than men to experience shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, and back or jaw pain.

Call 911 right away if you think you or a loved one may be having a heart attack.

Being a caregiver means helping someone who needs extra support, whether it's with daily tasks or just being there for them. It can be hard work but can also be very rewarding. It is important to remember to also take care of yourself while you are caring for others.
